Sisaket (town) : ウィキペディア英語版 | Sisaket (town) Sisaket ((タイ語:ศรีสะเกษ)) is the town (thesaban mueang) in northeast Thailand that is the capital of Sisaket Province. It covers the complete subdistricts (''tambon'') Mueang Nuea and Mueang Tai and parts of Nong Khrok, Phon Kha, Ya Plong, and Pho, all in Mueang Sisaket District. As of 2008 it had a population of 39,679.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Population statistics 2008 )〕 is the Thai honorific derived from the Sanskrit title of veneration Sri, and ''Sisaket'' is sometimes transliterated as , , '', or ''Si Sa Ket''. The traditional name is ''Sri Nakhon Lamduan'' (), honored in the name of the Sri Nakhon Lamduan Stadium (), home ground of the Sisaket F.C. ==History== The municipality was created in 1936, then named Khu Khan, which was then the name of the province. In 1939 it was renamed Sisaket, following the renaming of the province the year before.
